The Yale Whiffenpoofs is a collegiate a cappella singing group at Yale University. Established in 1909, it is the oldest such group in the United States. Best known for “The Whiffenpoof Song”, the group is composed of 14 senior students who compete for admission in the spring of their junior year. Since their founding in 1909, the Whiffenpoofs have brought their diverse repertoire of vocal jazz, folk, pop, and Broadway hits to more than two hundred audiences each year across all 6 inhabited continents. In past years, the ‘Whiffs’ have sung for Presidents Obama, Bush (41 and 43), Clinton, and Reagan, and at venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. They’ve even been featured on television shows such as “The Sing Off,” “The West Wing,” and “Glee.” We hope to see you there!
Various levels of tickets are available. We cannot guarantee everyone will be seated together for this event but we will try our best to gather together before the doors open.
April – Craft Day at the Troy Public Library
Monday, 4.27.26 ~ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm ~ RSVP Due By 4.17.26!!!
On Monday, 4.27.26, we will gather in the Meeting Room of the Troy Public Library for a Craft event. You will have your choice of creating a Suncatcher or a Pressed Flower Necklace and Earrings. LeeAnn from Wild Daisy Creative will be our teacher. Pictures of each are in the March newsletter.
Choice #1 ~ Suncatcher ~ $23: We will be designing and assembling a beautiful unique large suncatcher using UV resin, pressed flowers and foil to design a large charm or two small charms then choose from a variety of charms and prism crystals to decorate your suncatcher. Hook to hang your suncatcher is included.
Choice #2 ~ Necklace and Earrings ~ $23: Create your own pressed flower and resin necklace and earrings. LeeAnn will have lots of different flowers and greenery to choose from, as well as a variety of gold or silver shapes and styles. All supplies provided to make and assemble a necklace and pair of hypoallergenic earrings.
If you would like to attend this Social, please RSVP to Karen G. and include your name, cell phone number and whether you want to make the Suncatcher or the Necklace & Earrings. RSVPs and payments are due by 4.17.26. Payment must be received by 4.17.26 in order to participate.
