Ladies Daytime Euchre

We are playing this month on Thursday, October 17 at 9:15 am at the home of Amy S.  Please RSVP to her by Tuesday, October 15 by phone or email. If you are not a regular hostess, let Amy know if you wish to bring a breakfast item for that morning. We are beginner friendly and always looking for new people, so invite a new friend or come on by.

A Big Thank You to Sherry D. for hosting in September and all that brought food! Hope to see everyone for a fun day of coffee, food, fun and laughter, and of course “Some Euchre Playing”, if we can fit it in!!!

Please contact Gina or e-mail for further information or if you are interested in hosting this activity.

Ladies Game Night (Girls’ Night Out)

This month we will be meeting at the home of Jill M. on Monday, October 28th at 7:00pm. We encourage any member to join us. It’s fun evening out! If you attend regularly and haven’t hosted in a while, please consider bringing an appetizer, dessert, or drinks to help out the hostess sometime during the year. If you would like to help out this month, please let Jill know ahead of time so she can plan accordingly.
If you will be coming, please contact Jill by Friday, October 25th by email or phone.

We still need hostesses for January, February, March, April and May. So, if you haven’t hosted in a while, please consider offering to host sometime this year. Please contact Linda M. by email. Remember, if no one offers to host, we will not be meeting that month.

If you would like more information about Game Night, please contact Linda M. or e-mail

Mah Jongg

If you were too wary of Friday the 13th to come to mah jongg in September (although you have no excuse for missing the afternoon version on the 27) you have a couple of safe opportunities in October to come join us. We will meet at the home of Jane E. on October 11 at 9:30 am and on October 25 at 1 pm. New players are always welcome. Please contact Jane if you plan to come or need directions.

While it’s okay to just show up (we’re a very accommodating group!) it’s helpful if you are new to contact Jane so she can set up a teaching table. Also contact her if you need directions.

Please e-mail Jane at for more information.

Meadow Brook Ushering

A New Season for Meadow Brook Theatre Ushering. This is your chance to see professional plays for free! We usher for 7 plays this upcoming season and are able to see the plays for less than an hour of your time. If you would like to usher next season starting in October 2019, email or call Laura.. Please see the dates below to see if you are available for most of them; if not, please consider being a substitute because we need your commitment to usher for most of the plays as a regular. We usher for the 3rd week of the play (not necessarily the 3rd week of the month). Ushers should report at least 50 minutes before their performance.

The performances are on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 6:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Please see the newsletter for the list of plays and dates. A Christmas Carol will need more substitutes to fill in for additional performances. There is also an option to usher with your spouse if there is room. Please let me know immediately as spots are in high demand.

We have a few openings for most performances. We always need substitutes, please let Laura know if you are interested. If you are interested in ushering or have questions, please call Laura C. or email

This month Debbie R. will be hosting our evening session of cropping at her home in Troy. We will meet on Wednesday, October 30 between 6-11pm. Drop in for a couple of hours or come for the entire evening. We are a beginner friendly group, so even if you aren’t currently into scrapbooking feel free to drop by and check us out. It is always a fun time filled with good conversation and some food and drinks.

Respond directly to Debbie by October 28 if you plan to attend. Information containing her phone number and address can be found in the TNC directory. Feel free to contact Denise M. with any questions. Hope to see you on Oct 30!

If you are interested in participating or have questions, please call Denise or e-mail
