Ladies Game Night (Girls’ Night Out)

This month we will be meeting at the home of Gina Kossick on Monday, January 13th at 7:00pm. We encourage any member to join us. It is fun evening out! If you attend regularly and haven’t hosted in a while, please consider bringing an appetizer, dessert, or drinks to help out the hostess sometime during the year. If you would like to help out this month, please let Gina know ahead of time so she can plan accordingly. If you will be coming, please contact Gina by Friday, January 10th.

I would like to thank those who have hosted games night in the past. But we still need hostesses for February and March. I would like to see this activity continue!! So, if you haven’t hosted in a while, PLEASE consider offering to host. Please contact Linda Marx by email. Remember if no one offers to host, we will not be meeting that month.

If you would like more information about Game Night, please contact Linda M. or e-mail

Mah Jongg

What was your New Year’s resolution? Mine is to make it to yoga class at least twice a month. (We’ll see how long that lasts!) If you haven’t made a resolution yet, why don’t you resolve to make 2020 the year you learn to play mah jongg? (Believe me, it’s a lot more fun than yoga!)

Mark your calendars now for Friday, January 10 at 9:30 am and Friday, January 24 at 1 pm and plan to be at Jane E.’s house at those times. You don’t have to know anything about the game – we will be glad to teach you. Please contact Jane if you plan to come or need directions.

Please e-mail Jane at for more information.

Meadow Brook Ushering

This is your chance to see professional plays for free! We usher for 5 more plays this season and are able to see the plays for less than an hour of our time. If you would like to usher this season, email or call Laura C. Please see the dates in the newsletter to see if you are available for most of them; if not, please consider being a substitute. We usher for the 3rd week of the play (not necessarily the 3rd week of the month). Ushers should report at least 50 minutes before their performance and wear black pants and a white shirt.

The performances are on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 6:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Please see the newsletter for the list of plays and dates. There is also an option to usher with your spouse if there is room. Please let me know immediately as spots are in high demand.

We have a few openings for Sundays and Fridays. We always need substitutes. Please let Laura know if you are interested. If you need more information or have questions, please call Laura C. or email
