Couples/Evening Euchre

Please join us at Darcel C.’s on Saturday, October 20th for Couples/Evening Euchre. To RSVP, call or email Darcel.  All money is awarded that night for high scores, low scores get a chance at euchre quarters.  Cost is $5 per person and everyone brings an appetizer or dessert.

Singles are welcome as well as couples. We’re an intermediate group and welcome new players. If you’ve played Euchre before, consider joining us for a fun evening!

Contact Mary Ann at for more information about this activity.

  Ladies Bowling

The Tuesday Morning Bowling League kicked off our season on September 4th. The league has ten 3-person teams and we welcomed two new bowlers to the league: Kathy H. and Kimberlee U.   We bowl on Tuesday mornings at 9:15am at Escape in Troy (formerly known as Troy Lanes). The 32-week league is a non-sanctioned, fun and social league with three-person teams.  If you are interested in being on our sub list, please contact Susan H.

It’s friendly, fun, non-competitive, we get a little exercise and it’s a great way to socialize with the Club!! Call or email Carolyn B. or Susan H. if you’re interested, or send an e-mail to

Ladies Daytime Euchre

We are playing this month on Thursday, October 18 at 9:15 am at the home of Sherry D. Sherry lives in Macomb (see directory for address). Please RSVP to her by Tuesday, October 16. If you are not a regular hostess, let Sherry know if you wish to bring a breakfast item for that morning. We are beginner friendly and always looking for new people, so invite a new friend or come on by.

A Big Thank You to Pat M. for hosting in September and all that brought food! Hope to see everyone for a fun day of coffee, food, fun and laughter, and of course “Some Euchre Playing”, if we can fit it in!!!

Please contact Gina or e-mail for further information or if you are interested in hosting this activity.

Ladies Game Night (Girls’ Night Out)

This month we will meet at the home of Sue J. on Wednesday, October 17th at 7:00pm. We encourage any member to join us. It’s a fun evening out and a chance to see Newcomer friends and have some friendly competition playing easy to learn board games!

If you attend regularly and haven’t hosted in a while, please consider bringing an appetizer, dessert, or drinks to help out the hostess sometime during the year. Please let Sue know ahead of time so she can plan accordingly. If you’re coming, please contact Sue by Monday October 15th. We hope to see you there!

We still need hostesses for February, April and May. We won’t have Game Night unless we have a hostess! So if you haven’t hosted in a while, please consider hostessing this year.

If you would like more information about Game Night, please contact Linda M. or e-mail

Mah Jongg

Mah jongg will meet on its usual dates in October. On Friday, October 12, we will meet at the home of Terry S. at 9:30 am. On Friday, October 26, we will meet at the home of Jane E. at 1 pm.

New members as well as long-time members (see, I didn’t use old!) are welcome to join us. We are always glad to teach the game to new participants. Please advise Terry if you plan to come on the 12th and Jane if you plan to come on the 26th.

Please e-mail Jane at for more information.

Meadow Brook Ushering

This is your chance to see professional plays for free! We usher for 7 plays this upcoming season and are able to see the plays for less than an hour of your time. If you would like to usher next season starting in October 2018, email Laura C. Please see the dates in the newsletter to see if you are available for most of them; if not, please consider being a substitute because we need your commitment to usher as a regular.

We usher for the 3rd week of the play (not necessarily the 3rd week of the month). Ushers should report at least 50 minutes before their performance. The performances are on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 6:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. There is also an option to usher with your spouse if there is room. Please let me know immediately as spots are in high demand.

2018-2019 Season – Please see the latest newsletter for the full listing of plays and dates

We still need ushers for Sundays (need 6 people), Wednesdays (need 3 people) and Fridays (need 2 people).  Please let Laura know if you are available to usher on Sundays, Wednesdays or Fridays. We always need substitutes, so please contact Laura if you want to be added to the sub list.  If you are interested in ushering or have questions, please call Laura C. or email

Our group will be meeting for a daytime cropping session this month on Monday, October 15 at the Scrapbook Tree, located at 48099 Van Dyke in Shelby Twp. The hours for the session are 11-7. The cost is $10.00 or purchase that amount of materials in their store.

Please let Denise M. know if you plan to attend by Friday, October 12. I will call the store ahead of time to be sure they have enough open seats to accommodate our entire group. Hope to see you there!

If you are interested in participating or have questions, please call Denise or e-mail
