Singles are welcome as well as couples. We’re an intermediate group and welcome new players. If you’ve played Euchre before, consider joining us for a fun evening!

Contact Mary Ann at for more information about this activity.

  Ladies Bowling

Our bowling season is coming to an end. We had our final week of bowling on April 23. We will wrap up the season with a banquet on April 30 where we will enjoy a meal and distribute the prizes. If you are interested in joining our league as a regular bowler in September or in being on our sub list, please contact Susan H. The league has ten 3-person teams.   We bowl on Tuesday mornings at 9:15am at Escape in Troy (formerly known as Troy Lanes). The 32-week league is a non-sanctioned, fun and social league.

It’s friendly, fun, non-competitive, we get a little exercise and it’s a great way to socialize with the Club!! Call or email Carolyn B. or Susan H. if you’re interested, or send an e-mail to

Ladies Daytime Euchre

We are playing this month on Thursday, May 30 at 9:15 am at the home of Martha B. Martha lives in Troy (see directory for address). Please RSVP to her by Monday, May 27. If you are not a regular hostess, let Martha know if you wish to bring a breakfast item for that morning. We are beginner friendly and always looking for new people, so invite a new friend or come on by.

A Big Thank You to Gina for hosting in April and all that brought food! Hope to see everyone for a fun day of coffee, food, fun and laughter, and of course “Some Euchre Playing”, if we can fit it in!!!

Please contact Gina or e-mail for further information or if you are interested in hosting this activity.

Ladies Game Night (Girls’ Night Out)

This month we will be meeting at the home of Diana A. on Tuesday, May 14th at 7:00pm. We encourage any member to join us. It is fun evening out! It is a chance to see Newcomer friends and have some friendly competition playing board games.

If you attend regularly and haven’t hosted in awhile, please consider bringing an appetizer, dessert, or drinks to help out the hostess sometime during the year. Please let Diana know ahead of time so she can plan accordingly. If you will be coming, please contact Diana by Friday, May 10th. It is the last game night of the year. We hope to see you there!

If you would like more information about Game Night, please contact Linda M. or e-mail

Mah Jongg

After the first play date with the new card I can say, unequivocally, that I like this card better than the 2018 one! (Four mah jonggs will do that for you.) Some other people might not feel the same.

At any rate, we will be playing at the home of Jane E. on Friday, May 10 at 9:30. Ella T. will be hosting on Friday, May 24 at 1 pm. New players are always welcome. We are happy to teach the game.

Please contact Jane if you plan to come on the 10th and Ella if you plan to come on the 24th or need directions.

Please e-mail Jane at for more information.

Meadow Brook Ushering

This is your chance to see professional plays for free! We usher for 2 more plays this season and are able to see the plays for less than an hour of your time. If you would like to usher as a regular or substitute, please email Laura C. Please see the dates in the newsletter to see if you are available for most of them; if not, please consider being a substitute because we need your commitment to usher as a regular.

Ushers should report at least 50 minutes before their performance wearing black pants/skirt and white blouse or sweater. Sign in and get your usher badge and return the badge before the play starts, so you won’t forget. The performances are on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 6:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. There is also an option to usher with your spouse if there is room. Please let me know immediately as spots are in high demand.

2018-2019 Season – Please see the latest newsletter for the full listing of plays and dates.

We need 2 ushers for Sundays 2:00 performance for the rest of the season. We have a few openings for many of the performances.  We always need substitutes, so please contact Laura if you want to be added to the sub list.  If you are interested in ushering or have questions, please call Laura C. or email

Instead of having a daytime or evening crop this month, we will be taking our annual field trip to The Great Lakes Mega Meet on Friday, May 10. This event is held at The Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, between the hours of 10-6. Admission is $10 and can be purchased at the door. The event features many vendors selling unique supplies for both scrapbooking and card making, and features some demos and a few make and take opportunities.

In the past we have been able to carpool, and after attending the event we finished our afternoon with a late lunch nearby. If you are interested in attending and/or carpooling, contact Denise by Monday, May 6. Carpools will be arranged if a schedule for departure and return is agreeable to the interested participants.

In addition, our final cropping event for the club year will feature an outing to Scrappy Chic in Livonia on Sunday, June 2. The fee to crop from noon-6 is only $5. Preregistration and prepayment to attend are required by the store. They have a spacious cropping room and a large selection of items for purchase. Again, we will try to arrange carpooling, and stop for dinner afterwards if there is enough interest. As always, contact Denise if interested.

If you are interested in participating or have questions, please call Denise or e-mail

Wine Tasting

May Wine Tasting will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 7 pm at the home of JoAnn B.  If you plan to attend, please contact JoAnn by Thursday, May 16th.  Please bring your own wine glass and an appetizer to share.  JoAnn will provide dessert. Cost will be $10 per wine drinker. Hope to see you there!
