IT WOULD BE GREAT TO HAVE OTHERS SHARE IN THESE FUN DAYS PLAYING EUCHRE. Let’s have another great year of friends gathering, good conversation, good eats, good laughter and of course “Some Euchre Playing”, if we can fit it in!!!

Ladies Game Night (Girls’ Night Out)
This month we will be meeting at the home of Linda M. on Wednesday, September 11th at 7:00pm. We encourage any member to join us. It is a fun evening out! This will be the first games night of the year. It will be a chance to catch up on summer news with Newcomer friends and have some friendly competition playing board games. If you attend regularly and haven’t hosted in a while, please consider bringing an appetizer, dessert, or drinks to help out the hostess sometime during the year. If you would like to bring an appetizer, drinks or dessert this month, please let Linda know ahead of time so she can plan accordingly.
If you will be coming, please contact Linda by Monday, September 9th. We need hostesses for the remainder of the year. If you haven’t hosted in a while, please consider being a hostess this year. Remember if no one offers to host, we will not be meeting that month.
If you would like more information about Game Night, please contact Linda M. or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
You know all those tile matching computer games that call themselves mah jongg? They lie! For a taste of the real thing put the second and fourth Fridays on your calendar (that’s 9:30 am on the 13th and at 1 pm on the 27th) and come to Jane E.’s.
While it may be new to you, mah jongg is actually an ancient Chinese game. (We play the American version.) It is played with tiles and you try to match a set hand to win (mah jongg). It is fairly easy to learn and is a lot of fun. Even when you don’t win (sorry, Lynnda) the company is good. Breakfast treats, some even healthy choices, are available for the morning session. Attendees sign up for treats and are reminded via email the week of play.
While it’s okay to just show up (we’re a very accommodating group!) it’s helpful if you are new to contact Jane so she can set up a teaching table. Also contact her if you need directions.
Please e-mail Jane at email@example.com for more information.
Meadow Brook Ushering
A New Season for Meadow Brook Theatre Ushering. This is your chance to see professional plays for free! We usher for 7 plays this upcoming season and are able to see the plays for less than an hour of your time. If you would like to usher next season starting in October 2019, email or call Laura C. Please see the dates in the newsletter to see if you are available for most of them; if not, please consider being a substitute because we need your commitment to usher for most of the plays as a regular. We usher for the 3rd week of the play (not necessarily the 3rd week of the month). Ushers should report at least 50 minutes before their performance.
The performances are on Wednesdays at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., Thursdays at 8:00 p.m., Fridays at 8:00 p.m., Saturdays at 6:00 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. A Christmas Carol will need more substitutes to fill in for additional performances. There is also an option to usher with your spouse if there is room. Please let me know immediately as spots are in high demand.
We have a few openings for most performances. We always need substitutes, please let Laura know if you are interested. If you are interested in ushering or have questions, please call Laura C. or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Welcome back to another year of fun and friendship with the Troy Newcomers! Time to dust off those cropping supplies, print out those summer vacation photos and meet up with your cropping buddies at our first event of the new club year. This month will be a daytime session of scrapbooking at The Scrapbook Tree in Shelby Township. We will be meeting on Monday, Sept 16, drop in hours are between 11-7. The store is located at 48099 Van Dyke Ave. The cost to use their cropping room and die cut machine is $10, or you can purchase that amount of materials in their store and the fee is waived. Bring your own lunch and drink if desired. The store needs to know how many in our group will attend, so if you are interested please email Denise M. so she can include you in the count.
We welcome all levels of croppers to meet with us. If you are brand new and curious about what it takes to get started, just come to check us out. October’s meeting will be an evening session and we need a hostess. You can choose the date that works best for you. Please let Denise M. know if you are willing to host in October. Thanks!
If you are interested in participating or have questions, please call Denise or e-mail email@example.com
