MHS Pet Pantry Food Drive

The pet pantry food drive was successful. We collected 12 bags of dog food, 4 bags of cat food along with can food for both. This helps keep animals in their current homes. Along with the food there were a variety of dog/cat treats, cat litter, paper for shredding and toys. Thank you to everyone that contributed to this worthy cause.

Troy Union Elementary Giving Tree

$150 in Kroger gift cards were delivered to Troy Union Elementary on November 5th for their Thanksgiving Giving Tree project. This donation was greatly appreciated. Thank you to all who have contributed and/or still plan on contributing to our Christmas Giving Tree project. TNC members have been very generous and I know the children will be very grateful. This project involves three families having a combined total of 13 children. The items needed totaled 110 gift tags. Gifts range from coats to socks to small toys. Most of the gift tags have been accounted for but we could still use cash donations. The gifts are due December 17th by noon. If you want to contribute, please contact Kimberlee U. and she will be glad to pick up any donations. Please bring the wrapped gifts to the Christmas luncheon on December 12th or the Bowling league end of season brunch on December 17th. If you are unable to attend either activity, please make arrangements with Kimberlee to pick up the wrapped gifts prior to December 17th. Thank you again!!

Senior Baking

Cakes needed!!  One of Troy Newcomers ongoing service projects is providing cakes for the monthly Seniors Birthday Tea at the Troy Community Center.  We need seven cakes every month.  The parties are on the first Thursday each month, and cakes should be delivered to the Troy Community Center, 3179 Livernois, by 10 am, or anytime the day before.  Any flavor cake is appreciated, and they don’t have to be home made.  They ask for one Angel food cake each month.  For more information, please contact Terry S. or Carolyn S. or send an email to seniorbaking@troynewcomers.com.

Rose Awards

Each month, September through May, White Rose Awards are given in appreciation to members serving on the board who have made an outstanding contribution to our club. In addition, Red Rose Awards are given in appreciation to members not serving on the board who have also made significant contributions to our club. Troy Newcomers Club is truly grateful for the time these women take out of their busy schedules and the extraordinary effort they put forth on behalf of our club. Please see the newsletter for more information about these wonderful women.
