The lives of two women, separated by forty years, become intertwined in ways neither could have expected, but somehow seems destined to be. Please contact JoAnn to confirm you will attend. Evening/Couples Euchre
Thank you, Marissa H. for hosting last month. We are planning the next season of euchre from September 2024 to May 2025. If you know which month you would like to host in your home, please contact Darlene G.
We start at 6:45 pm, cost is $5 per person, and everyone brings an appetizer or dessert to share. All money is awarded that night for high scores, and low scores get a chance at euchre quarters. Hope to see you there.

Ladies Bowling
Our new season begins on September 19th, 2024. We will be bowling on Thursdays at 9:15 am in the Escape Bowling Alley on Square Lake Rd. If you would like to join our league as a regular bowler or a substitute, please contact Bobbie F. by August 16th.

Ladies Daytime Euchre
We are playing next on JUNE 5th at 9:15 am at the home of Martha B. Martha lives in Troy, see directory for address. Please RSVP to Martha by MAY 31. If you are not a regular hostess, let Martha know if you wish to bring a breakfast item. We are beginner friendly and welcome all new players, we can refresh your euchre skills or teach you to play.

Mah Jongg
Unlike most Newcomers’ activities, mah jongg does not take the summer off! If you’re beginning to feel deprived of your regular Newcomers “fix” come and join us at Jane E.’s house on Friday, June 14 at 9:30 am and/or Friday, June 28 at 1 pm. Mah jongg is relatively easy to learn, we have a very friendly group and don’t make you solo until you feel ready.
For those of you who think it will be boring to sit and match tiles (like the so-called online mah jongg games) be assured that that has absolutely nothing to do with actual mah jongg. Come and check out the real deal!

Meadow Brook Ushering
Isn’t it amazing how quickly the season progresses?! Here we are the end of a great play season. The final play is ELLA, First Lady of Song. And what a treat this should be. This production traces the 60-year career of the renown Ella Fitzgerald. From the Apollo Theater to the Côte d’Azur, this jazz musical covers Fitzgerald’s hardscrabble childhood to her enduring legacy in the music world and beyond. Songs include classics such as “Sweet Georgia Brown,” “A Tisket-A-Tasket,” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing)”.
This is a Michigan premiere and suitable for middle school and up. We will be ushering Wednesday, June 12th through Sunday, June 16th.
It is time to consider your usher commitment and renewal too! More information will be coming as we learn more about the 2024-2025 season. I look forward to welcoming you all back! Thank you for a great year!

Scrapbooking
Come join us as we share and scrap our memories on June 17th from 11:15 to 4pm. We will meet at the Scrapbook Tree located at 48099 Van Dyke Ave. Shelby Township. The cost is $10 or you can spend $10 in product and crop for free. Please let Debbie R. know if you can attend.

Wine Tasting
If you are interested in tying some new wines, enjoying good conversation and sampling a selection of appetizers and pot luck type dishes, consider attending a wine tasting evening. The June wine tasting will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 6:30pm. It will be hosted at the home of Carol P. Please RSVP to Carol by Wednesday, June 12 if you plan to attend.
This will be the last wine tasting event until September. Have a safe and wonderful summer.
Each wine tasting evening is hosted by a Troy Newcomer member. The members attending may bring a spouse or friend along with an appetizer, their wine glasses and $10 per wine drinker which will contribute to the cost of the wine. Those who do not drink wine are welcome to attend, contributing an appetizer but are not asked to pay the $10. The hostess chooses the wines she would like to serve and supplies the coffee and desserts. This is held once month on a Friday or Saturday evening of the hostess’s choice beginning at 6:30pm.
